Back for Strength to Progress 2026, because this one was simply too good to leave in 2025.
We're celebrating the brilliant Dr Hazel Keedle — midwife, researcher, author and fierce advocate for women's rights, birth choices and evidence-based maternity care.
And her words? Pure Hazel.
“For God's sake, it's just a bath.”
A beautifully blunt response to the barriers women continue to face when choosing to labour and birth in water.
Hazel's work has challenged maternity systems to listen to women, respect their decisions and stop allowing institutional resistance to stand in the way of evidence-based care.
Sometimes you need the research. Sometimes you need policy reform. And sometimes you just need someone to say what everyone else is thinking.
