A lawyer and fierce advocate for women's rights in childbirth, Bashi has spent years challenging the systems that undermine women's autonomy and fighting for maternity care grounded in respect, dignity and informed choice.
Her words say it all:
“To be valid, consent must always be informed, specific, timely, freely given and reversible.”
Because consent isn't a box to tick, a signature on a form or something that disappears when a woman goes into labour. It's a fundamental right, and one that deserves to be understood, respected and upheld.
Created for Strength to Progress, this tee honours Bashi's advocacy and the women, midwives and birth workers who continue to challenge the status quo.
For everyone who knows that consent in childbirth is not optional.
